Fine Art Portrait Photographer
About Dale Steadman
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by art — my mother spent more than 50 years working in watercolor and was a nationally recognized artist and leading member of the Colorado Watercolor Society. Her painterly influence shaped how I see light, tone, and composition. My father introduced me to the technical foundations of photography, sparking a lifelong fascination with creating images that feel more like art than photographs.
I’ve been seriously photographing for over two decades, with the past 12 years focused on professional portraiture. My work leans toward painterly, moody lighting inspired by classical masters like Rembrandt, while still embracing bold, modern elements and unexpected styling. I’m drawn to portraits that feel timeless, expressive, and deeply personal.
My goal is to create an experience where everyday women are guided through a transformation — not just in appearance, but in confidence. You don’t need to know how to pose or feel photogenic. I direct every step, shaping light, expression, and movement to create portraits that feel elegant, natural, and uniquely yours.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m inspired by my family — my wife and twin teenage daughters, both talented artists in their own right — who continue to remind me that creativity is something to be nurtured and shared.
